Oh BABY!
Dog-gone It!
Since the Happy Birthday Jesus cake, I have taken some interest in gum-paste figurines. Thanks to you-tube I have come up with this fondant puppy dog....I think I will make my daughter a puppy-dog cake for her upcoming birthday. The image quality is low due to my unsteady hand while taking the pic with my phone :)

Congrats Andy and Julia!
We're Waiting, Baby Claire....
This is a baby shower cake is enormous. The 14" bottom tier is striped vanilla and strawberry cake with a buttercream coat. The top tier is chocolate cake topped with a fondant bouquet. Fondant flowers to match the napkins surround each cake edge and painted wood letters. I also added mini cupcakes each topped with a fun icing color and fondant flower. Congrats Amy and Steve!
Look out, here comes Spider-Man
Happy Birthday Jack! The bottom tier of this cake is chocolate with buttercream filling decorated with fondant super-stars and spider rings for the birthday boy to wear. A plastic spiderman is scaling the side of the top vanilla and chocolate cake. The buttercream spiderweb covers the fondant cakes and the cake board!
Bugs for Dessert! Yum!
Send those kids on a mission trip!
Elmo Celebrates!
Monster of a Birthday
Happy Birthday Bobby! The fondant monsters on this cake were modeled after the napkins, Bobby's monster birthday t-shirt he wore, and other monster decorations that so cutely decorated the room! Bobby's mom made additional cupcakes that she decorated with a print of a monster, and the amazing monster treat bags also had that special touch! Birthday stars shoot out the top of the cake next to the main monster holding a printed birthday sign. FABULOUS PARTY KAREN....As always!
Hurry to Finish
Happy 1st Claire!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
This three tier (10", 9", 6") cake was a donation to my son's preschool for their Christmas program. The bottom tier is chocolate cake with fudge and raspberry filling covered in fudge icing and then chocolate fondant (and not a single calorie! ;-) The middle layer is a vanilla cake which has a carved cave for that cozy manger scene. Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus in his manger are made of gum-paste. The top small cake is a chocolate and vanilla layered cake surrounded by buttercream clouds and topped with a gum-paste angel and star. Merry Christmas!
Super Heros to the Rescue!
This is a 3 tier birthday cake (10", 8", 6"). The bottom red spiderman layer is garnished with spider rings for the kids at the party. This layer is chocolate with chocolate fudge and raspberry filling. The red fondant is also a raspberry flavor. Batman's yellow layer is vanilla with buttercream and raspberry filling surrounded in fondant building cut-outs. Superman has the "exploding" top layer with buttercream clouds, fondant number "6" and fondant stars bursting out!
Jonathan Cour's Cake!
This cake was made for the musician Jonathan Cour (lead of the group Carillon). As sinful as it sounds, Jon does not like chocolate (gasp!). So this is a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling. The plastic guitar on top is supported by musical notes!
Hannah Montana
This was a cake for a 10 year old fan of Hannah Montana. The bottom is a red velvet 10" cake in zebra print. The top cake is a chocolate raspberry torte decorated with fondant notes, guitar ornaments and black ribbon as the music scale. The cake is topped with fondant shooting starts and a bit of feathery bling!
